The US Immigration Fund (USIF) has entered into a partnership with the educational company, The Chopras Group, to promote the EB-5 US visa in India. It wants to raise as much as $125 million by 2018 from 250 Indian investors wanting to use the route to gain entry into the US.
The US Immigration Fund is the leading EB-5 US visa regional center operator in the US, concerned with raising capital via the EB-5 US visa program to invest in the nation’s real estate market. Launched in 1990 by the US government, the program allows overseas investors with a high net worth to get US visas for their families with a minimum investment of $500,000 in any American business that results in the creation of at least ten new US jobs.
Andrew R Graves, the director of business development for the US Immigration Fund, says that the partnership with the Chopras Group has been undertaken to assist investors in India to emigrate to the US by using the EB-5 US visa program. He notes that Indian investors in the program have increased in number over the years, with as many as 149 granted US visas last year.
Graves points out that investments are always safe as they are deployed in housing and commercial projects that are backed by notable senior lenders and leading developers, with green cards usually issued to investors within four to five years.
