Those who immigrate into the US as A-1, A-2, G-1, G-3, G-4, or NATO 1-6 immigrants can bring their dependants and these dependants (which can include immediate family and spouses) can live and work in the US. However, for these dependants to get authorization to work in the US, they must file USCIS Form I-566 (Interagency Record of Request -- A, G or NATO Dependent Employment Authorization or Change/Adjustment to/from A, G or NATO Status). In addition to filing I-566 dependants also need to file a dependent employment authorization form. Form I-566 (Interagency Record of Request -- A, G or NATO Dependent Employment Authorization or Change/Adjustment to/from A, G or NATO Status) can also be used when dependants adjust their status from or to NATO or A or G status.
