Holders of nonimmigrant visas sometimes need to leave the US in order to visit family or for other reasons. Unfortunately, there are restrictions on such residents which can make re-entry into the US difficult without a Form I-94 or I-95 (Nonimmigrant Arrival-Departure Document). Form I-94 (Arrival-Departure Record) and Form I-95 (Crewman's Landing Permit) are two documents which show when you stay expires and when you entered the US. If you have misplaced your I-94 or I-95, you must file Form I-102 (Application for Replacement/Initial Nonimmigrant Arrival-Departure Document Form) to ask for a replacement. However, if you still have your I-94 or I-95, but this document contains the wrong information, you must instead go to a local deferred inspection office (DIO), or point of entry in order to have the information corrected.
