Those applying for federal, local, or state benefits generally need to submit USCIS form G-845 (Verification Request (SAVE agencies).and possibly the G-845 Supplement. In many cases, immigrants need to submit original documents as part of the G-845 Supplement to prove their status. Unfortunately, in many cases photocopies are not acceptable for this form but if you do submit your documents with the supplement you may need them back promptly. If that is the case, you can use USCIS Form G-884 (Return of Original Documents) to request the return of your documents. You can submit your completed Form G-884 to the USCIS service center, district, or office handling your case (in the event that no decision has yet been made in your case) or the USCIS service center, district, or office which last handled your documents before a decision was made.
