U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) offers certain services to its customers who have filed immigration or naturalization applications with the agency. It allows them to check their application status and follow up on their applications.
Applicants can check the status of their cases at: https://www.us-immigration.com/uscis-case-status/index.html
Soon after an application is received, USCIS will check it for accuracy and completeness. The agency will then send the applicant an application receipt notice, which will have an application receipt number. Applicants must use this number to check the status of the applications they have filed. This receipt notice will not only have the receipt numbers but also important information about their cases. They can check the status of their applications by entering their receipt numbers and clicking on the “Check Status” button.
Processing Times
USCIS processes applications in the order the applications are received. However, USCIS will not take the same amount of time to process all cases as not all cases are the same. USCIS also posts the average processing times to help customers know how long it is likely to take for their cases to get processed. USCIS updates this information every month and customers can check the processing times on the USCIS website.
Customer Service
USCIS customers who are unable to find information on their pending cases can contact USCIS at 1-800-375-5283 to get the required information. They will need to provide their application receipt numbers or their Alien Registration Numbers for the customer service officers to research their cases. An electronic message will be sent to the local USCIS office that is processing the case if the Customer Service is unable to find information. Customers would then receive a response from the local offices within 30 days of contacting the Customer Service.
USCIS allows its customers to make InfoPass appointments and meet immigration officers to get information on their pending cases. Customers can make InfoPass appointments and inquire about their cases if they do not get the required information from the Customer Service.
