College leaders want immigration program to remain
Calling for the upholding and expansion of President Obama’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program, 500 university presidents have signed a statement. This is because President-elect Donald Trump has stated that he would end the program. The statement they signed claims that DACA recipients studying in their respective universities are making major contributions to their communities.

Caribbean immigrants among those apprehended in 2016
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement aims at protecting the U.S. from illegal immigration and crime. The agency says that out of the undocumented immigrants apprehended, most of them were from the Caribbean.
Arkansas lawmakers oppose immigrant shelter plan
State Representative of Arkansas, Bruce Westerman and U.S. Senators Tom Cotton and John Boozman are against the proposal to turn an abandoned factory close to Hot Springs into an immigrant shelter for unaccompanied immigrant minors. They say that this proposal is irresponsible and that it is against the wishes of Arkansas residents.
Senator urges Trump to enact immigration reform
Republican Senator Tom Cotton says that the Americans now want President-elect Donald Trump to put an end to the current immigration system that serves the powerful and wealthy, and enact a new one. He says that Trump has to enact an immigration policy that provides greater security for American workers, increases wages and has more benefits.
Utah residents support Trump immigration plan
According to a UtahPolicy.com poll, many in Utah want President-elect Donald Trump to keep his election promise and deport undocumented immigrants from the country. 75 percent of those surveyed agree with Trump’s immigration policy. However, there are some who are against his deportation policy.
