Bernie Sanders recently endorsed Hillary Clinton for the Democratic presidential nomination. Sanders said that the November 2016 Presidential Election is not about the Presidential candidates, but about addressing the needs of the American people. He believes that Clinton is the best candidate who can address the needs of the people. Saying this, he added that he will do anything he can do to make sure she is the next President of the U.S.
Clinton said that the two of them have joined hands to defeat the Republican candidate Donald Trump. She said the election is going to be more enjoyable with the two of them on the same side as they are stronger now.
Sanders thanked the Americans who voted for him during the Democratic primaries. He said that Clinton will go to the convention with 389 more pledged delegates than he has.
He also thanked President Obama and Vice President Biden for their leadership and for getting the country out of the recession. He said the recession was because of the recklessness and illegal behavior on Wall Street, due to which 800,000 people lost their jobs every month and the country was running up a deficit of $1.4 trillion dollars.
Sanders added that more needs to be done as many Americans are still left out and ignored. There is too much poverty and despair in the richest country in the history of the world and this election is about many workers who are falling further behind trying to survive on inadequate wages.
Clinton understands the need to fix the country’s economy that sends all the wealth to the top one percent and leaves the others poor. She also understands that anyone who works 40 hours a week should not be living in poverty. She wants to rebuild roads, water systems and wastewater plants and create millions of new jobs.
Clinton understands the need for all Americans to be insured and need for the country to have the best educated workforce in the world. She wants to lower student debt and make tuition free for middle class and working families in the country.
Sanders said that this election should bring together Americans and not divide the people. He said that Clinton understands that diversity is one of America’s greatest strengths. He said though he and Clinton disagree on many issues, he is proud to stand with her as she will make an outstanding president.
