Independence Day is a great time to get together with family and friends to enjoy the summer sun and have fun. Fourth of July in the U.S. means fireworks, hot dogs, picnics, beaches and other events. This holiday is one of the favorites of Americans.
There isn’t much time left before the holiday but that does not mean that it is not possible to plan a party and throw together a fun celebration.
Display U.S. flags
U.S. flags can be displayed outside homes and on bikes and scooters. Small U.S. flags can be a central theme for the party decorations.
Invite Friends and Family
Though there is not much time left before the holiday, technology makes it easy to invite friends and relatives to a party. One of the easiest ways is to post an event on Facebook pages and invite friends through that.
Decorate with the stars and stripes in red blue and white
Families can use red, blue and white in creative ways to decorate their homes and to inspire a sense of patriotism in their guests. Balloons and flowers in red, white and blue can be used for festive party decorations. What better way to make the country’s colors visible everywhere!
Everyone loves to play with party crackers filled with treats. Party crackers can easily be made at home using toilet paper tubes, crepe paper in red, blue and white and glue.
Most of the states allow the residents to buy sparklers. Once sparklers are removed from their packaging, they can be bunched up and tied together with red, blue or white ribbons. These bunches can be handed to the guests to welcome them.
Independence Day Lunch
A traditional Independence Day lunch consists of hamburgers, hot dogs, watermelon and an American flag cake. Americans also can light up their lunch by trying new recipes like Blueberry Waldorf Salad, Fourth of July Brownies or “Wave the Flag” Cupcakes. Popsicles are perfect for hot summer days. Fourth of July popsicles can be made using red, blue and white colored juices.
Hosting a barbeque is another great thing that can be done on the Fourth of July.
Watch an Independence Day parade
The National Independence Day parade will take place in Washington D.C. and most communities across the country will have parades or some other special events. People can find out what is going on in their cities and take part in those events or watch the Independence Day parades.
Happy 4th of July, everyone!
